Chris and Marilyn Rice have done what we all dream of doing, but few of us actually dare. A year ago they stopped work, sold their house, bought a boat, and now they are travelling the waterways of England. No bills, no mortgage, no worries.

This was the first boat they have owned, but they have hired craft for many years, mainly on the Thames and the Norfolk Broads, but with some canal holidays. They therefore had a lot of ideas as to what they wanted, but even so they still went the usual route of visiting boat shows, buying books and magazines, then starting to lay out their own design on paper.

"they are more than pleased with the result"

They chose Fernwood for their builder because they liked the company's open-minded approach, and modern ideas, and they are more than pleased with the result. We saw the boat at the Crick Show, and determined to take a closer look as soon as possible.
