As we have already said, the Kelvin provides more than enough power for the job, and barely raises a sweat, even at the river speeds of our test on the Trent. To imagine it at full power would be quite fearsome.

As usual, the speedwheel controls require some time to acclimatise to, and even when you have got the hang of them, it is as well to plan your manoeuvres in advance, to avoid over-stressing the gearbox as you go from forward to reverse. The steering is heavy though this is a big boat to turn, and the plus side is that it runs in an easy straight line when required.

Of course it is no good talking about the noise or vibration, because that is what you bought the engine for, but even so, you could comfortable stand behind it all day.
